Actually this is about 8 miles from our house. It is called Devils Den in Fancy Gap VA. The view is North Carolina. Click on the picture for a more detailed version. They call it that as there is a large cavern on the premises. Some guys that had killed a judge hid out in there back in the early 1900's.It was called the Hillsville masacre.

It looks like you can see a long way from there. Wonder why they call it the Devil's Den? My guess is some of those old Appalachian folks probably blame the devil for everything. And that is a big bench!
