We are in the middle of real heatwave here. Today is only 90, but we have had consistent temps of 100+. I drove by the bank clock in Chesnee, SC last week when it showed 108! Next week is supposed to be in the high 90's. Fortunately our AC has been working good, but I am a little worried that our well might be getting low.I've been working on the kitchen and living room this past week. I removed the counter that used to run through the middle of the kitchen and moved the sink up against the wall. This really opened things up and gives us more room to sit around the table. I also put up a few more shelves to make up for the lost cabinet space. And we ripped out the carpet in the living room last week. I want to put down some reclaimed hardwood but for now the plywood seems like an improvement over that raggedy old carpet.
We made invitations today for Virginia's fourth birthday and it looks like we may have quite a crowd here. Of course everyone from the family here is invited, and I think Mom and Pop said they might be able to come.
And Casey the black labrador has been gone for about a week. We don't know what has become of her. She has a micro-chip so we would get a call if she were at the shelter. Maybe someone has taken her in, and that might be for the best.

Wow, its you all over again, Luke! This shot really captures how much he favors you when you were that age! He is such a good baby, too. I didn't hear him cry once while you guys were here! I know he laughs..he did some of that!
Sorry to hear about Casey. I know you all miss him.
