I am disgusted that our country has "sold out" to a country that we really can't even trust. I honestly believe we and our children will be better people going without many things than have something made in China. I hope that the American way hasn't become so materialistic (which I'm afraid it has) that most people don't really care where something is made just so long as they have "one".
Our country started out on hard work just to have an American family made home and family produced food on the table. We have lost so much of God fearing family ideals in the madness of shopping. There are other things to do than go shopping. I sadly realize that Christmas to most people means going to the plastic tinsel made in China decorated malls. I honestly know in my heart children will be better off staying home baking cookies, walking in the wood gathering pine branches and cones for decorations than going shopping.
I am not saying stay out of the stores entirely(impossible) but if you are dragging your kids to them more than twice a week ...this is what you are passing on to your children. That spending money on crap made in China is the American way.
Christmas is just not one day that we all have to go crazy over with shopping. When December 25 is over its over and no one is really happier(very long) because of the gifts. I understand it is a magic day for children but they are better off getting a few things (whatever can be found that is made in our country or made by ourselves) Really does disappointing a child on Christmas morning because they didn't get what they saw on Walmart's shelves or on the television cause them great harm? I say no, they also need to know that they have a family that has some principles that do not waiver.
O.k. I'm 100% positive most all of our electronics and appliances in my house have been partly and mostly made in China. It really bothers me but , I'm just saying be aware, don't overdo the spending and TRY to buy American whenever you can.

You are so right about this. I'm going to post a picture of the cool truck I made for Reuben. We are planning a mostly all homemade Christmas again this year.
As guilty as most American's, but I cheer your thoughts enthusiastically. Well said!
