Potatoes,Dinosaur Tree and Shed Junk

I am showing off my Yukon Gold Potatoes! We just have dug a few off and on for a meal they are doing so good! I put them beside a light bulb so you can see these big taters! As you can see our giant oak came down. So my potato plants are under some of it! They may be mashed! We are very happy about getting this awesome dead dino down. It was worrisome every time strong winds blew. Cutting it up will be some job! I will help any way I can but Pop will be doing the hard stuff as usual!
Oh if our boys were young again I have pictured how you all would be playing on it!
Also Pop has been really cleaning out this shed and looking at it, I think ,as something we will have around for awhile now that the big branches won't be coming down on it!
We have a special pickup from the town scheduled to take away a lot of this junk! It feels so good to get rid of clutter! I am so blessed to have a hard working husband!
So that is some of the good things happening around the Harding Homestead!

When I saw the first pic, I thought it was one of those electricity from a potato experiments. However, I had never see one produce enough electricity to power a light bulb. Of course, judging from the pic, it looked like it wasn't working anyway.

I wish you could send some of that rain up here. It has been SO DRY!!

I bet the back yard looks alot better and probobly feels bigger too. Not that it didn't look nice already! Is that tree to far gone to use for firewood? If it isn't that should last quite a while!
We have been cleaning out alot of our old stuff too. We just had a yard sale today and will tomorrow as well. It feels good to let go of stuff thats not needed even if you don't make any money.
Some of the money we make I am using to buy some tools to set up my wood shop. I've got big dreams of turning it into a business making outdoor furniture, bunkbeds, and the like. I dont want to spend much getting it started though so I'm planning on starting real simple and small and hopefully if I'm as good at it as I like to think I am it will grow...I guess we'll see.

That looks great! The picture of the tree across your garden reminds me of a far side cartoon. I wonder if anyone can guess the one I'm thinking of?

Those potatoes look real good. I wish I had one to fry up right now.

Does it have something to do with a squid?

Justin said...

yeah...something about not letting the squid know you are afraid because "squids can sense fear"

There's also the one where the police are looking at a huge monsters (godzilla?) leg lying in the street. I cant remember the caption though.

HAROLD! There you are!...Oh and good heavens, there's my old hairbrush too.
Remember this one. I dont know why it popped into my head but I always thought it to be one of his funniest.

Those are some good ones. Jacob may be thinking of the right one, I'm not sure. The one I was thinking of showed King-Kong dead on the ground after he fell off the empire state building and he had squashed an old lady's bag of groceries and she is saying "Well, there goes my tomatoes!"
