This family blog continues the one originally started by Luke. It is hoped through the sharing of stories, ponderisms, and pictures of family and events, that this online journal will serve to enhance and nurture our relationship and draw us closer to God and each other as we travel along life's road. Buckle-up!
It reminds me of a Gary North article from some time back that talked about how appliances that were called time-saving innovations had taken away a lot of quality time from families because it was the mundane and regular tasks that in previous generations provided the opportunity for self-reflection and the occasion of good conversation among families.
I remember also reading an article by a different author who was talking about how modern life has separated us from death. He remembered in his childhood having to help dig graves for family members who had died. And he said something like, "there is just no better time to reflect upon one's own spiritual condition than when your hands are occupied in the strenuous task of digging an early morning grave."

Yeah I pretty much agree with that.
