White Oak Canyon Falls

Isaiah and I finally made it to the waterfalls after an attempt two years ago that got us lost way off the trail for several hours. The water was too forceful, from all the rain we have been getting,to try to slide down. I spent good while looking for my wedding band that I lost up there the day after Dawn and I were married. This was the first time I had been back since then. I would like to take a metal detector up there and look, but since it is a national park they are not allowed. In other words I guess that just means to be careful about who's watching. We are going to attempt to take the whole family the week after next. I said take because it will probobly be more carrying them rather then them walking :)

wow,it looks pretty! I miss that walk! It will be hard with the little ones! We went up to the top of Old Rag when Paula was 7 mths old. She was not too heavy but Pop and I kept trading off the back carrier we had her in. Did you go through "fat man squeeze"? There are places the kids can fall if you go to close to the edge so keep a hold of them! So the water was too full and forceful to slide, huh? We have had alot of rain! Glad you didn't get lost this time! How many hours were you up there?

I think your thinking of Old Rag Mountain. I do remember all of us going up there. would be reluctant to take any of them on that trip yet.
This wasn't anywhere near as long a walk as I remember it being-about 45 min each way. We left around ten oclock and got home about five, so we spent several hours up there.
I remember you posted a video a while back of a trail you and Pop went on. Have you been back and are there others you have found?

White Oak Canyon is a part of Old Rag but a trail... not the whole climb...right?

Oh also to answer you question. We haven't been back to Mt Rogers but we intend to! Would love to have you all go with us!
