This family blog continues the one originally started by Luke. It is hoped through the sharing of stories, ponderisms, and pictures of family and events, that this online journal will serve to enhance and nurture our relationship and draw us closer to God and each other as we travel along life's road. Buckle-up!
Dawn got discounted tickets somehow it still wasnt cheap. I think a regular adult ticket is about $30. It was definetly interesting but it all seemed kind of fake with the lighting and walkways/railing-not like I imagined it. It's more like a gift shop with a scary basement in back. I wasn't all that impressed. And those arn't walkmans,I hope you know I was joking. There are signs with numbers on them along the way and you type in the number to get info.
BTW. I just came in from seeing the SpaceStation fly over.It will be highly visible every few hours through saturday. I was trying to see it in the telescope but it's moving too fast:( Go here: http://www.heavens-above.com/LocationFromGoogleMaps.aspx?lat=36.76749&lng=-80.71381&loc=Unspecified&alt=0&tz=CET
I checked out the space station thing last night. I guess the times are ok, but it only shows up at 10 degrees above the horizon here and I don't think I have a clear enough view of the horizon in that direction (NW to NE) to be able to see it. So...how many millions of billions of years did they tell you that it took to create those caverns? :)
About a jillion-ga-billion. After the first 5 min we took off the earphones, it was more fun without them anyway. Last night the spacestation hit about 60 degrees. Some of the viewings down here will be/have been at 90.I have been trying to see it during the day, but so far no luck. Without the telescope it's still pretty amazing. It appears about 5-10 times as big as the brightest star and moves pretty fast. I think I am going to try just a good pair of binoculars,as these should be easier to follow it with, and see if I can make out the actual shape of it.

We're all so sick of being around each-other that we carry our own walkmans to drown out the conversation and avoid any thoughtful discourse.
Melanie has wanted to visit Luray Caverns ever since we first met. Looks like fun was had by all. How much did admission cost?
