This family blog continues the one originally started by Luke. It is hoped through the sharing of stories, ponderisms, and pictures of family and events, that this online journal will serve to enhance and nurture our relationship and draw us closer to God and each other as we travel along life's road. Buckle-up!
Yes, it arrived on Thursday. I opened it when I got in from work and my first thought was to call, but after changing and eating supper I forgot. I should have remembered on Sunday, when I wore it to church (it went very well with my green slacks), but I didn't. Your gift (and the extra effort to return it and mail a larger size) was not appreciated any less than if I had said "thankyou" right away. It was not because of my ungratefulness, nor your failure to impress upon me the importance of showing appreciation for something, that I did not call. I am a very forgetful person. I know it's not an excuse because I could overcome it if I put forth the effort. I often forget things even when I am the only one who stands to gain from remembering. I know telling you to not take it personally sounds a bit cold but if you can understand where I am coming from it might seem more appropriate. If it were not for my incredible wife, who often serves as guardian ad litem for my brain, I would probably be considered the most ungrateful person on Earth. I am sure she most likely reminded me to call you,but me, being the unappreciative person I am, ignored her.
Thanks,Jacob. You really are responsible for your own actions, not your wife. Pop wrote thank-yous to Grandma and Grandpa Purple over the years,(without me asking him.) My brothers call or thank me when I send them something so its not just a woman thing. Grandpa P is also the same. I was raised by incredibly kind and generous people.
BTW I sent your kids a pkg a few weeks ago and never heard from them. They need to learn to say thank you, also. I will stop sending them pkgs if I don't get a thank you from them. Its just good teaching. I am saying this to all my grandchildren not just yours.

Did you get your shirt?
I guess thank you, whether you like it or not, has gone out of style!

The cartoon is funny.
But the above is far funnier.
