A nursery project

These past couple weeks I have been working on a gate which was needed between the two rooms of our church nursery. Jenni is one of the chairpersons of the nursery and has done such a wonderful job of keeping it organized. Recently we had a wall between the two rooms partially knocked out to make it feel more open. We keep the larger children separated from the infants so they don't hurt them. There used to be a dutch (split) door between the two rooms. Since a part of the door frame is no longer there, a gate was needed instead. We spent about 6 hours at church yesterday getting it finished and installed. I had a lot of fun with this project. Here are a few shots of the progress along the way.

In the basement...waiting for glue to dry.
How do you like the redneck sawhorses?

Saturday morning...mostly finished...waiting to go to church. Did you see the pegging? First time I ever tried that.

Installed in the nursery.
From the infant side.

From the older kids side.

Can you see Sophie?

That really looks good. I like the way you put see through places near the top for the shorter tikes.

So happy that you all truly have a "church home". Something we all really never had. Your commitment to a church family is such a good example to your girls and I am proud of you all!
