How bout this place?

Linda's Thrift Shop. Although I don't see the title anywhere on the outside. It may go by a different name now. I can remember sitting in the van next to Captain D's and waiting for Mom to come out. It seemed like forever when we were kids, but she probably really wasn't in there all that long. Here's the other side of the street where she would often park. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2626+princess+anne+st.,+fredericksburg,+va&ll=38.317114,-77.471466&spn=0,0.014613&oe=UTF-8&safe=active&gl=us&z=16&layer=c&cbll=38.317021,-77.471413&panoid=PK4-QqtO4i9JreUnbVfy9g&cbp=12,298.49,,0,8.85

I used to like that place because of the grab bags. I don't know why I remember stuff about Jake more than others but I remember leaving this place once when Jake had a terrible time deciding on which Matchbox car that he wanted. He finally picked one and as we were leaving in the van, he broke down in tears saying that he had REALLY wanted a different one. If only our adult troubles were as trivial. :)

I don't remember the matchbox car thing. Ive probably repressed the memory.
I can remember joking about the place next door-"Nitties Stepdown". Looks as though it long gone.
Remember when Luke smashed his finger in the sliding door before Mom came out and he wrapped it in a paper towel to try to hide the fact that it was bleeding because Mom had told us not to open the doors.

I went down the road a ways on the street view you posted but I can't seem to find the other thrift shop we would go to on this road. It was on the opposite side as Lindas and it was like an old warehouse. I remember then having a some coins and lots of bicycles. They also had a whole wall full of old radios and other broken electronic junk.

This use to be called Linda's Thrift store. The warehouse is down the road on a different street. We didn't go there as much but I think one of you boys got a fishing pole there and I bought wooden kitchen chairs there and a dresser that I refinished and still use today! I think Justin may have been in college at that time! Remember Paula dropping her little dolls we had just bought her out the window while parked across from Lindas Thrift store? Pop and I would not leave you kids out there by yourselves. He and I would take turns sitting in the van with you all. We would often take you kids in also or take turns letting a couple of you come in. When Paula dropped the dolls out the window no one knew she had done it but Pop remembered seeing a black man bend over and pick up something near the van. We figured he got them and took them home to his kids. They were the cutest little handmade stuffed dolls!
