I washed them and cut off any bad places but on the sma;ller tomatoes I just cut them in half. Whizzed them for a few seconds in my Vita Mix (I am sure a blender would work also if you cut them up smaller). Pour the container of pureed tomatoes into my special colander and strained the skins and seeds which were scraped into the garbage. I then put the tomato puree into freezer bags and froze! So easy,then when cold weather comes and we have the wood stove going I will dump the frozen puree into a big pot and cook it down into tomato sauce. I am saving energy cost this way. This was so much easier than blanching the tomatoes and skinning them and putting into jars to process!
