Crazy cold

Here's the forecast for next week.

Dangerously cold air will arrive early next week. In fact, the weather may be colder than what we've experienced in almost 20 years. By Monday morning, temperatures will fall to between 20 and 25 degrees below zero, with wind chills as cold as -30 to -50. During the day on Monday, it will be partly sunny, windy, and extremely cold with highs in the double digits below zero. Wind chills will stay between -20 and -40 through the day. On Monday night, temperatures crash again to near -20, with dangerous wind chills as cold as -45 possible. On Tuesday, highs will be just below zero with partly sunny skies. Wind chills by Tuesday afternoon will still be as cold as -25.

Our basement stays pretty cold (it's just the laundry and storage and stuff), but I opened up the heating ducts down there for fear of freezing pipes. We've had about 8 inches of snow on the ground for a while now and I don't think it's going to be going anywhere for a while.

My condolences, Justin. If I had to deal with that I would probably fall into an irrecoverable depressive state.

If there wasn't the promise of spring, I would too. This past fall I was so excited about getting to use snowblowers for the first time. The fun is long over.

We have an inch on the ground right now. That is too much for me and 40 ABOVE zero is about 40 degrees too cold.

About the only thing I hate about the summer is insects. Other than that, I could sweat all day and be happier than a pig in the mud.

If you dress right extra sock and double or triple layers you can make it! That is very cold, I am not sure it ever reached that cold in Massachusetts, makes you thankful for a warm and cozy home and family! And the promise of Spring like the promise of Heaven while living in this sick and sinful world.
