Here's a picture of my well house project. Seems like small potatoes next to pictures of Jacob's garage (which looks amazing), but I'm having fun with it.

Looks like its coming along real nice Luke. I can see the stone foundation under the bottom plate. Cool! Will there be a hinged door on the front or will the roof lift off for access?

Thanks Pop! Actually, my plan is just to screw the front on like the other sides. If I needed to work on the motor I could just take out the four screws. Also, the whole building is only bolted down to the foundation with four bolts so in theory the whole thing could be unbolted and lifted off if it was necessary, although I imagine it would be pretty heavy. The roof will be removable too. I'm hoping to have time to build some little trusses tomorrow.

Luke, Jake's project IS amazing, but your project looks really neat too. I see the level sitting there so you are building to some exacting tolerances? You mentioned in an earlier post about keeping the pump from freezing so does that mean that you are going to put insulation inside of those walls? I am curious to see what the roof will look like. Will it be pitched with shingles? Maybe you could paint the whole thing up on the outside to look like a real house? I'm sure the girls would like that.

Looking good, Luke. I was wondering what became of this project. Did you just start back on it?

I probably will insulate it, but I may not get around to that until winter. As far as the roof, it will most likely be tin because Sara's dad has an old metal shed that he's giving me, and I think I can salvage some there. What I can get for free usually determines what I'm going to do. I framed the house with 2X4's that I got off some packing crates that the City of Gaffney was throwing away. I even re-used all the nails. The rocks in front are some that I gathered from the woods, so they were free too. I did have to buy the plywood, though. I'm planning to paint it to look like an old English half-timbered house. I did just start back on this last week after a long time of doing nothing on it.
