Back from camping!

We arrived home late last night from our three day excursion into the Ellicot Wilderness region of the Sumter national forest. We had a lot of fun. Time seemed to stand still out there. The weather was perfect. We camped beside the Chatooga river and the kids loved playing in the water and climbing on the rocks. Sara and I have been practicing some woodcarving so we carved a few "spirit faces" in some of the rhododendron wood and left them behind for others to find. We told stories, ate lots of great food, slept long hours, and played endless games of hide and seek. It felt good to get away from the clocks and computers for a bit and just eat and breathe and be human. Wish I had some pictures to share but we haven't replaced our camera just yet. Sara's sister Marianne and her husband Scott were there with us, and I think they may have taken a few so if I can get them I will post them up here.
