This family blog continues the one originally started by Luke. It is hoped through the sharing of stories, ponderisms, and pictures of family and events, that this online journal will serve to enhance and nurture our relationship and draw us closer to God and each other as we travel along life's road. Buckle-up!
We had a lot of fun on Monday at the State Fair in Richmond. We got discounted tickets since it was Homeschool day:) The kids rode tons of rides, saw lots of farm animals and got lots of free goodies from vendors. It was a great day!
How wonderful that you all went! We use to love going! Did you all go through the business bldg where they give all the free samples? Did they have they baby ducks going down the little water slide? You kids use to love that.
The last time we were there I bought the Vita Mix that i have now. It was one used by the demonstrator so we got it at a reduced price. Pop just sent for a new container for mine as our old one was cracked.
We got about a billion free magnets. I don't remember the ducks on the slide but we didn't see them this time. It seems I remember your vita-mix cracking right after you got it too. Isn't it supposed to be the same stuff that helicopter windshields are made of?
By the way I still havn't cracked the boat puzzle yet,Luke. I guess I could cheat and find the solution on the internet but that would take the fun out of it. What did you use to carve it. Was it all hand done (no electic tools)? Did you copy another one or did you come up with this design yourself? It is quite a masterpiece.

The boat shape was my contribution to the design, but the puzzle design itself was copied from this: http://www.seriouspuzzles.com/loopdeloop.html
By the way, I think the solution is available there.
I did use some basic power tools, but most of the carving was done with a utility knife & a wood chisel.
Don't know if he mentioned it, but I sent one to Pop too, and he told me he looked up the solution on the internet.
