A Little South Carolina History

 In 1986 the South experienced a terrible drought. The national news featured our own Tom Trantham, of what is now The Happy Cow Creamery and 12 Aprils Farm, and his then failing, drought stricken farm. An elderly midwest farmer called him up after watching it, and offered some of his surplus hay. This started a movement that resulted in over $2 million of hay being donated by Midwestern farmers to struggling Southern ones. You can read more here.
