The techno-thrill lost

This article caught my eye because I can empathize with the writer. I cannot tell exactly when it was written. (Is it the December 2001 date?) While I do not agree with everything that he says, I can definitely relate to how things were during my college years and for a year or two thereafter. America was caught up in the thrill of electronics/computers to an almost halucinogenic level. His insight is "right on" when he says that this obsession took our eyes off of what was most important and September 11th brought us back down to earth. I miss the euphoria of those few magical years, and although bittersweet, I am glad America was awakened. A very interesting article, indeed. http://archive.salon.com/tech/feature/2001/12/21/year_essay/index.html

I'm glad the game boy craze is over. They were so annoying.
